My Collaborative Work

Above is a screen shot (using Jing) from a collaborative test preparation, a few classroom peers did together. As a future educator I have been able to discover over the past few weeks how important collaboration is for success. Through the tool Google Docs my work load was simplified as I was able to share ideas and complete a team task with others. In the classroom I encourage my students to work together to share ideas and learn new concepts. I truly believe that some of the answers and solutions provided above, I would not have been able to discover on my own; however, when I worked with other people their creativity and new ideas allowed me to think in new ways, resulting in many test reviews being completed with confidence and clarity. As a future educator, it is important to team teach with other colleagues so that we can learn new teaching techniques and problem solving strategies. No longer is teaching an independent practice, where a teacher is alone in the classroom. Now, through collaborative efforts teachers are able to expand their classrooms all over the world through the use of technology and simply working with others. Overall, collaborative learning is something that I will absolutely include into my teaching practice as I believe it helps students to think of new possibilities to any situation.
